Let’s celebrate the new year with energy trends that are making noise in 2021. Today’s energy reality is being put to the test with the arrival of some cleaner, but above all renewable energies. At the forefront of the future are hydrogen, renewable natural gas and solar energy.

Hydrogen

Hydrogen maintains the climatic balance of our planet and its abundance is an unavoidable solution to reduce carbon emissions. Moreover, Quebec is a place where clean hydrogen production (green hydrogen) is a simple task thanks to the many hydroelectric facilities and the use of water (H2O) to produce it.

This molecule, once isolated, can store, transport and restore energy. Finally, it can provide the distribution needed to power heating and electricity without carbon!

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)

The environmental impact of RNG is real. First of all, it contributes to the management of residual organic matter by collecting it. Through a biomethanization process, the organic matter is degraded and then the biogas is purified into renewable natural gas. This 100% renewable energy can be produced locally and supplies the heating, cooking and fuel needed.

Due to its ability to recover methane emissions from landfills and its multiple uses, renewable natural gas is an energy with growing popularity.

Solar Energy

As popular as ever, solar energy will expand even more rapidly in 2021. This renewable energy, whose power comes from the sun, finds its strength in the light captured by solar panels, which are then transformed into electricity.

Already well known in the field of renewable energy, many countries are using solar energy to reduce their CO2 emissions. For example, Morocco is moving towards a renewable energy of 42% in the entire country as a result of the immense use of solar energy.
